Random Updates

Some of you may have noticed I haven’t been blogging as much the past few weeks. Nothing to worry about! I’ve just been busier than usual at work. Anyway, here are some updates as to what’s going on in my life lately:

-I finally finished reading They Came to Baghdad by Agatha Christie. What a fun spy novel! This is the 2nd Agatha Christie book I’ve read, and I really enjoy them. Mysterious, but light-hearted, with lots of twists and turns! Now I need to find something else to read…

-Jorge and I hung Christmas lights at our house last night! It looks very pretty. I forgot to take pictures because we were in a rush, but hopefully I’ll have them by tomorrow. I don’t think we’ll get a Christmas tree this year because we have no living room furniture… so it seems kinda sad to just have an empty room with a tree. But the lights look incredible!

-Jorge and I have to write a Christmas list to give to my family this week, but we don’t really need anything! We have tons of clothes, lots of stuff to decorate the living room with eventually (even though there’s no furniture yet haha) and more kitchen items than we have room for. We’ll have to get creative, I guess.

-Two of my best friends are getting married this weekend! Not the official wedding yet, but they’re signing papers and having a dinner with friends. I’m very excited 🙂 Congrats, Juan and Viri!

-I won’t be seeing Mario Lopez on Saturday because it’s the same night as my friends’ marriage. Sorry, ladies.

-Ever since we got married, I’ve been having super intense and often violent dreams. Jorge has no dreams. I think I’m stealing his dreams. Can that happen?

-The company I work for blocked Facebook. Sooo I can only use it on weekends. This has hurt my blog stats because normally a lot of my visitors link in from Facebook, but I can only post links on weekends. Not cool. (Other than that, I’m kind of glad to have Facebook out of my life.)

  1. I gave up facebook for lent last year. Got so bored that I started a blog. Probably defeated the purpose, but I’ve had way for more fun blogging! lol

Have fun at the wedding! I know that Mario will miss you!

  2. Laura, you can sync your blogs with Network Blogs and Facebook. All of my blog posts automatically post to Facebook and I don;t have to even be on FB to do it! My work blocks FB as well, so I figured this trick out awhile ago.
Just sign up for Network Blogs on Facebook, connect your blog, and it will post straight to Fb. Very slick!

  3. Good to hear from you! I’m bummed you won’t be helping me out with my Slater fix but understand your reasons. 🙂

Bummer about your company blocking facebook. the nerve of them!

  4. Juan and Viri have been such a large part of your blog, I feel like they are my friends too. I’m so excited that they are getting married!! COngratulations to the happy couple. Who needs Mario when you have a wedding? 😉

It sucks that your job has banned FB at work. I’ve got your link on my sidebar, so no worries. 🙂

  5. I was just thinking that I hadn’t heard from you on FB or the blog. That’s why I popped over tonight to see if you had shared something that I had missed.

I haven’t been blogging much lately either. Been too busy with getting things ready for the holidays and my in-law’s party. But now that my cuñado and cuñada are going home on Saturday, hopefully I’ll have more time. 🙂

  6. I wish it was magically easy to send furniture from here to there. While we are wishing, I also wish that I had a million dollar gift certificate to IKEA. Then you and I could go crazy in IKEA while you are home for Christmas and we would magically send it all back to your house in Mexico.

  7. Can I block myself from facebook? It would probably help my productivity. I love your attitude about the Christmas gifts, that you don’t really need anything. That is so refreshing to hear. In a world of everyone constantly wanting the newer, shinier whatever, it is so great to be content with what you have (even if some living room furniture would be nice).
